The University of West Alabama (UWA) is a public university located in Livingston, Alabama, USA. It was founded in 1835 as a church-affiliated female academy and later transitioned into a coeducational institution. UWA is part of the University of West Alabama System and offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs. The university's campus is situated on 600 acres in the city of Livingston, which is in west-central Alabama.
