Details about GATE 2024

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an entrance examination conducted in India that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of undergraduate subjects in engineering and sciences for admission into postgraduate programs. GATE is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technologies at Roorkee, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Chennai (Madras) and Mumbai (Bombay) on behalf of the National Coordination Board – GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India.

IISc Bangalore has released the GATE 2024 hall ticketIISc GATE Admit Card 2024 link has been also activated at gate2024.iisc.ac.in. Candidates can download their hall ticket using GATE admit card 2024 download link provided below.

Candidates can check here the GATE 2024 syllabus, exam pattern, eligibility criteria, and paper details. GATE 2023 question paper pdf, and the GATE previous year paper with solutions are available here. The exam will have a total of 65 questions carrying 100 marks, out of which 10 questions carrying a total of 15 marks will be from General Aptitude (GA) and the remaining questions from the subject selected by the candidate. The GATE exam will have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions.

How to Download GATE 2024 Admit Card

Students can download their GATE admit card 2024 by following the simple steps:

  • Visit the official website gate2024.iisc.ac.in
  • Enter your GATE Enrollment ID/Email ID and Password and click Submit
  • Click on the link available to download the GATE Admit Card
  • Download and take multiple coloured printouts of the document

What's New in GATE 2024

Two major changes introduced in GATE 2024 are

  • IISc Bangalore has started a new paper on Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DA). The syllabus for the newly included paper can be checked here as well as on the official website gate2024.iisc.ac.in.
  • The application fees for all categories have been raised for GATE 2024. Female/SC/ST/PwD candidates need to pay INR 900 while all other category candidates will have to pay INR 1800 as application fees.

GATE 2024 Syllabus

IISc Bangalore has released the GATE 2024 syllabus along with the information brochure. Candidates can download the GATE 2024 syllabus pdf online through the link given below. The exam syllabus varies from paper to paper selected by the candidates however, the syllabus of the General Aptitude (GA) section will be the same for all 29 papers.

The section of General Aptitude will hold 15% weightage, while 85% of marks would be given to the core subjects. Candidates must prepare for the entire topics included in the GATE syllabus 2024. Apart from that, candidates should also take up GATE Mock Test.
